Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Telouet Kasbah – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate:
Our journey begins in the captivating city of Marrakech, where we immerse ourselves in the vibrant energy of the souks and exquisitely decorated palaces. From Marrakech, we head south along the road that winds through
the majestic High Atlas Mountains.
As we ascend the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, we marvel at the stunning panoramic views of snow-capped peaks and green valleys stretching to the horizon. Our first stop along the way is the
historic town of Ait Ben Haddou, an ancient red clay kasbah that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Upon arrival in Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Sahara Desert,” we explored its fascinating kasbahs and film studios where famous movies such as “Gladiator” and “Lawrence of Arabia” were filmed. We spent the night in a charming riad in Ouarzazate, enjoying Moroccan hospitality and preparing for the next day of our
adventure .
Day 2: Ouarzazate – Draa Valley – Merzouga Desert: Crossing the Sahara Desert
On the second day of our trip, we head deeper into the Sahara Desert, heading to the magical town of Merzouga. The journey takes us through stunning desert landscapes, with vast expanses of golden dunes stretching as far as the eye can see.
Upon arrival in Merzouga, we are greeted by the imposing dunes of Erg Chebbi, where we begin our exciting camel adventure to our Berber camp in the heart of the desert. Here, we spend two nights under a starry sky, enjoying the tranquility of the desert and taking part in activities such as sandboarding, traditional music and stargazing .
Day 3: Exploration in Merzouga: Experience the Authenticity of the Desert
The third day of our tour is dedicated to exploring the natural and cultural wonders of Merzouga. During the day, we have the opportunity to visit nearby nomadic villages, meet the local inhabitants and learn about their traditional desert lifestyle.
In the afternoon, we venture out to explore the Erg Chebbi dunes, marvelling at their shifting shapes and the vastness of the landscape. As night falls, we gather around a campfire to enjoy a traditional Berber dinner and hear fascinating stories about life in the desert.
Day 4: Merzouga – Marrakech: Saying Goodbye to the Desert with a Heart Full of Memories
On our final day, we bid farewell to the desert and set off on the journey back to Marrakech, taking with us unforgettable memories of our adventure in southern
Morocco. The drive back offers us one last chance to take in
the stunning landscapes and stop in charming villages where
we can enjoy local hospitality and do some shopping for
unique souvenirs.
Back in Marrakech, we said goodbye with our hearts full of gratitude for having had the opportunity to explore this fascinating region. With memories that will last
forever, we said goodbye to Morocco with the promise of returning one day
to continue discovering its wonders.
