Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca
Our journey begins with arrival in the vibrant city of Casablanca, where we will be
greeted with typical Moroccan hospitality. After settling into our accommodation, we will have time to explore some of the city’s iconic landmarks, including the impressive Hassan II Mosque and the bustling Corniche promenade.
Day 2: Casablanca – Marrakech
On the second day, we head to the captivating Marrakech, known as the “
red city” because of the colour of its buildings. Here, we immerse ourselves in the lively atmosphere of the souks, stroll through the city’s lush gardens and marvel at the unique architecture of the Medina, including the famous
Jemaa el-Fna Square.
Day 3: Further exploration in Marrakech
This day is dedicated to exploring the charms of Marrakech even further. We can choose to visit historic monuments such as the Bahia Palace and the Saadian Tombs, or immerse ourselves in the local culture at the craft and spice markets. There are also options to enjoy activities such as a hot-air balloon ride over the city or a relaxing traditional hammam.
Day 4: Marrakech – High Atlas – Telouet Kasbah – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate
We leave Marrakech for the city of Ouarzazate, known as the “gateway to the desert” and famous for its film studios. Along the way, we cross the spectacular High Atlas, enjoying breathtaking views of the mountains and valleys. In Ouarzazate, we explore the film studios and ancient kasbahs that have been the setting for numerous famous films.
Day 5: Ouarzazate – Valley of the Roses – Gorge of the Dice
We continue our adventure to the stunning Todra Gorges, a natural wonder carved by the Todra River. Here, we marvel at the towering rock walls that rise on either side, offering a spectacular landscape to explore and photograph. We can walk along the river bed and enjoy the serenity and beauty of this unique place.
Day 6: Dades Gorge – Draa Valley – Merzouga Desert
Day six brings us to the highlight of our trip: the Merzouga desert. After an exciting road trip, we reach the golden sand dunes that stretch as far as the eye can see. Here, we ride camels for a magical sunset ride through the dunes, followed by an
unforgettable night under the stars in a Berber camp.
Day 7: Merzouga Desert – Ziz Valley – Azrou Cedar Forests – Fez
On our last day, we say goodbye to the desert and head towards the fascinating city of Fes, one of Morocco’s cultural gems. The journey takes us through picturesque landscapes and charming villages, where we can stop to enjoy local hospitality and do some shopping for unique souvenirs.
Upon arrival in Fes, we immerse ourselves in the old medina, exploring its labyrinthine streets and discovering its impressive historical monuments. We visit the famous University of Al-Qarawiyyin, the oldest mosque in Morocco, and the bustling souk of the city. With our hearts full of memories and experiences, we say goodbye to Morocco with the promise of returning one day to continue exploring its wonders.
Day 8: Return to Casablanca
On our last day, we head towards the coastal city, where our trip full of unforgettable memories and enriching experiences concludes. The 8-day route from Casablanca to Marrakech and Merzouga is a complete experience that combines the excitement of the city, the serenity of the desert and the cultural richness of Morocco. From the vibrant life of Marrakech to the tranquility of the Merzouga desert, this trip offers a variety of experiences that will delight the most demanding travelers.
